The Government of Canada has confirmed a new TR to PR pathway targeting workers in in-demand occupations, with a potential focus on rural areas. The full eligibility criteria and application details are expected in April 2026 — but we know enough to start preparing right now.

We don't know the exact rules yet. What we do know is that every PR pathway requires the same core documents — and some of them take months to obtain. Here is what you can start gathering today, regardless of how the program is structured.

The 2021 Lesson
Why speed matters
In 2021, the TR to PR program opened and closed the same day — it was a matter of hours. Those who prepared in advance got their PR. Many are Canadian citizens today. Those who waited are still searching. I do not want that to be you.
A Note from Daria
I created this checklist to help you prepare — because if this program unfolds anything like the 2021 TR to PR pathway, the window to apply will be very short and the spots will go fast. I know I cannot help everyone personally, but I do understand that you are hard-working temporary residents who have built your life here and are using every moment possible to get your PR.
At this moment, I am not taking clients for full representation, as we do not yet know the details of the program. But based on my years of experience, I know what documents are generally required and how to avoid the most common refusal reasons — and that is exactly what this checklist is about.

I run a boutique immigration firm dedicated to helping people who are already in Canada — on work permits, study permits, or other temporary status — make the transition to Permanent Residency. Canada is my home, and I want to help you make it yours.
I cannot help everyone personally — but I can educate you and share my experience. Every week until April, I will share tips, news, and guidance. And the day the program is announced, I will be on Zoom with everyone on this list.
